7th Biennial Conference in Organisational Behaviour in Health Care (OBHC)

Birmingham
11 - 14 April 2010

Conference Theme: Mind the Gap: policy and practice in the reform of healthcare

We are delighted that the 2010 Organisational Behaviour in Health Care (OBHC) conference will be held at the University of Birmingham.  SHOC is the Learned Society that governs OBHC and is registered with the Charity Commission and affiliated to the UK Academy of Social Sciences. The University's Edgbaston campus is set in 250 acres and has all the facilities of a busy town.  Lawns, mature trees and walkways contribute to the peaceful atmosphere and make the campus a wonderful spot for picnics and walking.

The OBHC conference will explore the behaviours of healthcare organisations in shaping, adapting and resisting developments in healthcare policy and practice. The conference will therefore invite papers that explore theoretical or empirical aspects of the responses of healthcare organisations, managers, clinicians and users to policy and practice initiatives. It is envisaged that these papers may look at a range of both policy - eg governance, personalisation, choice - and practice interventions, such as service improvement techniques and medical technology.

We are pleased to announce that Ben Page, Chief Executive of Ipsos MORI, has agreed to be the keynote speaker on the final morning of this event.  More details about Ben and our other speakers are available in the keynote speakers section.

Online registration is now available for this conference, and details of the conference fees can be found on the registration page.

If you have had an Abstract accepted, please read the details of how to format the full paper (pdf; 32KB) and return to t.gray@bham.ac.uk by 14 February 2010.
